About Deirdre

Deirdre Woolgar BA, Silversmith, Goldsmith and jewellery teacher, with 40 years experience. Deirdre has been teaching the joys and skills of silver jewellery making to adults ranging from 18 to 70 years. Deirdre’s silver classes take place in her purpose built, fully equipped, workshop in Welwyn, Hertfordshire.

Deirdre trained at Lougborough College of Art and is a postgraduate student of The John Cass London, in silversmithing and jewellery. She also has the distinction of being a Freeman of The Goldsmiths Hall and City of London. After qualifying, she joined a leading jewellery company as their Silversmith. Seeking adventure and inspiration, she spent a few years living in Africa and the Middle East. These influences can be seen in some of her work.

As an experienced Silversmith, she has been commissioned by many private clients and business organisations throughout the UK.
